Ric Flair, Like Everyone, Thinks Roman Reigns Will Win the Royal Rumble
Ric Flair, Like Everyone, Thinks Roman Reigns Will Win the Royal Rumble

As we head into the third consecutive WrestleMania geared toward getting Roman Reigns over as a babyface with fans, there’s been a lot of speculation about whether or not Reigns will win the men’s Royal Rumble match this weekend. Reigns last won the match in 2016, after spending most of the match taking a nap backstage. The crowd was so upset at Roman’s victory that they even booed his cousin, The Rock, when he raised Roman’s arm in victory.

But WWE may well try again. There are two prevailing theories for the Rumble this weekend. One sees Roman Reigns victorious once more, going on to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania, which has been WWE’s goal for some time. The other sees a SmackDown Live Superstar winning the Rumble, and Reigns obtaining his title opportunity some other way before WrestleMania.

But if you ask sixteen-time world champion and winner of the 1992 Royal Rumble, the Nature Boy Ric Flair, it should definitely be the former.

“When you keep in mind a lot of the focus is pointing towards Mania, then I think Roman Reigns has got a good chance,” Flair said in an interview with Sky Sports, stating the obvious. “I love Roman, he’s a great character and a great guy. He deserves it.”

As for the women’s Royal Rumble match, Flair sees Asuka‘s undefeated streak continuing at the historic first-time event.

“I would say Asuka,” Flair said when asked for a prediction. “She’s colorful, the fans love her, and she’s like the women’s version of Muta, with the paint and everything, and she’s very talented. All of the kids from Japan that come over are technically and mechanically very strong.”

They’re almost as strong as WWE would like Roman Reigns to be made to look on Sunday.

Randy Orton's Wife Not Happy About Him Not Being Booked For Tonight's WWE RAW 25 Special

Randy Orton's wife, Kim, took to social media today to vent over Randy not being booked for tonight's loaded RAW 25 show. Despite there being no SmackDown live event tonight, only a handful of SmackDown talents have been advertised for the event: Shane McMahon, Daniel Bryan, The Usos, Charlotte, WWE Champion AJ Styles and The New Day.

"Can someone pls explain to me how @randyorton isn't on the Raw 25th anniversary tonight?" she wrote. "He's been on more episode of Raw then anyone besides HHH, Michaels, Taker, Kane and Cena. Impressive list right? So why NOT @randyorton? He's had some of the most memorable moments in Raw history too. He's also on the Promo pic but isn't on the show. Just doesn't make sense to me. Enjoy the show tonight guys. I'll be playing MarioKart with my kids".

The Pope narrates emotional Wrestlemania 23 story regarding The Undertaker
The Pope narrates emotional Wrestlemania 23 story regarding The Undertaker

'The Pope' extensively worked for Impact Wrestling and parted ways with the promotion after a long working relationship which ended in August 2017.'The Pope' aka D’Angelo Dinero, whose real name is Elijah Burke, worked for the WWE from 2004-2008.

Nevertheless, Rhodes would then roll up the paper and throw it away. He then told 'The Pope' that he ought to say what he wants to say, and not simply follow the directives handed down to him. The Pope emphasized that it was Rhodes’ teachings that helped him gain confidence in delivering his promos. Furthermore, The Pope recalled his experience with The Undertaker before Wrestlemania 23—'The Pope' recalled that early in his WWE career, he first introduced himself to Dusty Rhodes. The latter in fact needed no introduction to him. 'The Pope' added that Rhodes showed him a paper issued by WWE creative and told him that’s what management wants 'The Pope" to say.

"I was standing backstage with the Undertaker holding me. I was crying like a baby, and him telling me, 'That's what they want to see. That's the type of passion they want to see. Enjoy this moment!"

On the other hand, fans can watch The Undertaker return to the WWE for the first time since Wrestlemania 33, on the special 25th anniversary episode of Monday Night RAW this January 22nd.'The Pope' is yet to sign with another promotion after his 2017 departure from Impact Wrestling.

One can’t help but appreciate The Pope’s passion for the professional wrestling business. The 39-year-old former amateur boxer has always been one of the most underappreciated talents in the sport and perhaps with Impact Wrestling now in the rearview, he could spend the next few years of his career in the WWE.

Roman Reigns Alleged To Have Been Client Of Jailed Steroid Dealer
Roman Reigns Alleged To Have Been Client Of Jailed Steroid Dealer
Richard Rodriguez, former owner of the Iron Addicts Gym in Miami, has implicated WWEIntercontinental Champion Roman Reigns as a client in a steroid distribution ring. Rodriguez has also named actors Mark Wahlberg and Josh Duhamel as other customers in the ring.
The DEA raided the Iron Addicts gym in February 2017 and arrested Rodriguez, accusing him of being involved in a distribution chain that imported goods from China, then manufactured illegal steroids in Arizona and then distributed them out of the Miami area.
Reigns was suspended in June 2016 for violating the WWE Wellness Policy, but it was reported at the time that he tested positive for Adderall.
Jon Bravo has been working on a special to uncover the mystery behind the Iron Addicts Gym and released a clip of an interview he did with Rodriguez. In the video below at the 4:30 mark, Rodriguez starts talking about how he was introduced to Reigns by one of the informants on the case, noting that Reigns is a very down-to-earth person.
"At the end I'm just trying to clear my name and just make people well aware, there's a lot more people out there that were involved and are associated with my company that many individuals did not know," Rodriguez said. "One of them in particular is a very famous wrestler by the name of Roman Reigns. He was originally introduced to me by one of the informants [laughs]. I've probably heard his name in the past due to numerous videos that Jonny Bravo has done, and also some including myself on my own channel.
"He [Reigns] is a very down to earth person, however, a situation involved in which… often times when you're brought to trials - which I was not, I decided to take a plea - however, they disclose discovery. Discovery is basically the proof that they have against you. One thing, one part of the discovery is what's called tried and true statements, which is basically disclosing everybody whom the investigators or people that were investigating you have spoken to with regards to your company, with regards to you, with regards to any other co-defendants that are associated with the indictment. So, that's one of the reasons why I disclosed him."
